A torque wrench is a precise torque measuring instrument. It is used to tighten threaded fasteners so that the torque is known and appropriate for the material and strength of the nut and bolt.
The wrench has a square end to accommodate 1/2" sockets. The tool has a long handle (460 mm), allowing the user to tighten bolts with a torque ranging from 28 to 210 Nm.
The desired torque is set by rotating the ring on the handle of the wrench to an accuracy of 1 Nm.
It is mainly used in the automotive industry for precise fastening and wherever the manufacturer has specified the required tightening torque of the joint.
